I received a confirmation earlier as my domain urbanreality.net has successfully been transfered to TUCOWS . As I expected, my website was down for 3 hours. They did not help me update my DNS to my previous one but replaced them with ipower’s DNS instead.
So, I tried to login to my domain management page but kept getting error that says my user/pass is invalid. I had no choice but to get customer support. I guess it’s either they have limited staff or they just have too many customers to attend to that I waited for nearly 45 minutes. I was attended by this guy called Winston. He was able to solve my problem in just minutes. He just reseted the password and resend the account details to me.
After login into the domain management, the first thing I did was to change all the DNS to my hosting. I thought it would take 12 hours or more to have the DNS updated. It took only 20 minutes instead and I was able to access my site again. Gee… that was quick!

I bet a lot of online out there would agree that Streamyx isn’t a very good solution for Online Gaming. Connection speed is on best-effort basis and not to mention the number of disconnection per day that I experienced. Back in hometown, my connection drops every 1–5 minutes after getting connected. If I’m lucky, maybe I’ll get to stay online for 3–5 hours and then get disconnected.
For online gamers, they will surely get pissed of by the connection. Let me give you a situation. Imagine that you’re playing Ragnarok Online and you’re in the middle of the Guild War. All of the sudden, you connection drops. I’m pretty sure you’ll go @*&(@39869*@(*^&(@*#7923@!! ScREAAAAAAAMYXXXXXX .
That’s what my housemate does all the time. All of the sudden I’ll hear him swear. When he does, it means the Streamyx connection has dropped. LOL FYI, he’s a BlueServer DOTA gamer. Every disconnection suffered increased the chances of his account get banned. And those who played on BlueServer knows it very well that users can only apply for one BS account per Streamyx account.
So… TMNET ~ How are we gonna enjoy our games when the connection is still crappy as ever ? What’s the point of promoting JumboPlay when the game keep halting and crashing whenever you have a disconnection. Might as well just spend some money and get the game CD instead. Sigh…….

Is it just me or everyone experiencing the same prob? All of the sudden web surfing became so freakin slow. Even a 56 Dial-up would go faster than Streamyx. I kept getting ping time-outs. Well, I think can bare it since I’ve been getting lots of problems from Streamyx back in hometown.
Too bad for my housemate. He was playing DOTA on BlueServer when the connection dropped. There goes the swearing tune spilling out from his mouth.
I called up 1300 88 9515 to enquire about the cause of the slow connection. The operator told me that there’s some maintenance & upgrading work going on. It would last till 6am on 24th August.
My housemate got annoyed upon hearing this. LOL]

My domain domain will be expiring in a month time but already got a reminder from my registrar. I was worried that I might forget to renew my domain. So I made a domain transfer order from my current registrar to another registrar since it’s much more cheaper. I’m expecting the transfer to be done in the next 7 days from now. Till then I would expect my site to be down for 1–2 days as the DNS update would take some time.

I’ve been testing this desktop publishing software called Blogjet for some time now. I’m currently using Blogjet 2.0.0.7 . I previously have problem posting with it cos the program crashed when I tried to post something to my blog. I was using Wordpress 2.0.5 back then. After upgrading to Wordpress 2.1.2, I found that Blogjet works pretty well with the new Wordpress.
Now playing: Pachelbel – Canon in D (Harp & Flute)
